A Flat and well toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control . Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals . Lipoabdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure used to make the abdomen thinner and firmer. The procedure helps to achieve a flatter abdominal contour and a high definition waistline.
Adults of any age who are in good physical health.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia or spinal/epidural anaesthesia.
There are two parts to the surgery. The surgery begins with liposuction of the abdomen and waist areas to give the flanks / waist better definition and curves.
An incision similar to a Caesarean Section incision but extending from one hip bone to the other is made. the skin-fat apron is lifted up, the rectus muscles are repaired by placing strong internal stitches.
Then the skin-fat envelope is pulled down like a shutter and all excess overhanging skin and fat in the lower abdomen is trimmed off.
The edges of the incision are then brought together in multiple layers with strong stitches. Finally the belly button has to be re-fixed making its appearance more youthful.
A Hospital stay of 24 to 48 hours after surgery is usually required for a lipoabdominoplasty.
-A pressure garment or corset is mandatory to be worn 24/7 for a period of 6 weeks or more.
-Plenty of oral fluid and high protein diet to facilitate healing.
-Normal activities resumes in 6-7days and return to work after two week.
– Heavy lifting is best avoided during this time .
✅Surgeon performs chin liposuction under general anesthesia or
via sedation with intravenous (IV) medications.
✅ It should always be performed by Board certified Plastic Surgeon.
-The final contour take about few weeks to manifest, as swelling reduces and the skin re-drapes well.
-Exercises help to get better and faster results.
-Result is a flatter, firmer abdomen with a waistline definition, remains permanent with constant weight.
A tummy tuck is also known as abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to improve the shape and appearance of the abdomen.
During a tummy tuck, excess skin and fat are removed from the abdomen. Connective tissue in the abdomen (fascia) usually is tightened with sutures as well. The remaining skin is then repositioned to create a more toned look
There are a number of reasons you might have excess fat, poor elasticity of the skin or weakened connective tissue in your abdomen. These include:
A tummy tuck can remove loose, excess skin and fat, and tighten weak fascia. A tummy tuck may also remove stretch marks and excess skin in the lower abdomen below the belly button. However, a tummy tuck won’t correct stretch marks outside of this area.
If you’ve previously had a C-section, your plastic surgeon might be able to incorporate your existing C-section scar into your tummy tuck scar. A tummy tuck can also be done in combination with other body contouring cosmetic procedures, such as breast surgery. If you’ve had fat removed from your abdomen (liposuction), you may decide to have a tummy tuck because liposuction removes tissue just under the skin and fat but not any excess skin.
A tummy tuck isn’t for everyone. Your doctor might caution against a tummy tuck if you:
